Prior to knee surgery, the WoundWear, Inc. A-Trac Dynamic Brace was purchased for my Dalmatian's recovery--the performance of the brace was poor.
At nine-years old, Grace, my ball-playing freak of a dog, blew both of her knees out and required ACL repair. I was concerned that her natural enthusiam would destroy any repair success that my veternarian accomplished. My veternarian found a website to WoundWear, Inc., but would not re-sell the product...that should have been my first clue.

Preparing for post-surgery, I purchase the brace for $365, in advance of the surgery date. As time to remove the surgical bandage came, we utilized the A-Trac brace to hopefully provide additional support to the non-repaired knee and provide protection the the operated knee. Hooking-up the WoundWear, Inc. device was not the easiest task as assembly is definitely required. Having the wrong strap lengths shipped to us, delayed the immediate use of the product.
Once the correct strap sizes arrived, we put the brace on Grace. She accepted the brace just fine, but it did not really look like it was doing too much to support her knees. We tried multiple adjustments, but the brace would never stay up on her thigh enough to offer any knee help; in-fact there was ususally a gap between the brace and Grace's leg. Worse...the whole device kept completely falling off!
Sure that we were just not "getting it," we loaded Grace and the brace into the car for a veternarian visit. With one very bright DVM and a people nurse in the room, the conclusion was reach that the A-Trac was not worth the effort.
So now that enough time had elapsed to put me well outside of the WoundWear, Inc return policy, I was ready to lose $365. After talking to a company representative, it was agreed that they would accept a return on the product and charge me a re-stocking charge. I felt that was fair.
WoundWear, Inc. makes the rules, they also can break them. Some time after receiving the returned brace, the same WoundWear, Inc. representative called to inform me that the "boss" is not going to accept the return. Now I am mad. So, now they are sending the brace back with (after me calling to ask) a credit for my shipping expense.
It is my opinion, as a consumer of the A-Trac brace, that the product failed to meet any of its claims to help Grace in her recovery.
